currently nesting… sensing rainbow & getting ready to break the halfway point of days in, labor come laborious we get a quick short stop & crack into the last remaining bits of the good stuff to take measure of how the massive amount of mess a proposed weekend special haul out turned week long slap in the ass has effectively moved boy slightly further to man

day one kilo mike charlie location v.1.1… power showered & wet but still in a drying state… she sits anxiously at the working dock as the fresh tickle of wire brush & the hard sharp imposing edge of a metal two handed paint scraper make the first indelible mark on the week yet to begin

blessed be the boys in the yard. dropping for convenience as well as ecological slash and or pure sanity reasons. we take advantage of the awesome set of tools that Shawn & the rest of the great help at the Ke’ehi Marine Center have to offer… give us a week with 79 discs of 40 grit, two pneumatic hand sanders & a only minor shutdown fritz in the hepa vacuum sucking system we’ll report back with all this later!

somebody better call in the metallurgist… getting down to business or brass tacks as it were the day two lay day coupled with in & out sessions of rain versus hot muggy sun may have put the proverbial dampener on the situation at hand but in no way had an affect on progress

day 3 location v2.2.1 ish & i’d say “better get me a bucket” but it’s more like “special thanks to our sponsors & i’ll take another piece sandpaper please!” we mount ladder after ladder run dancing to the delicate moves between our rock and our not so hard place

day four location v.2.3 mamma said mamma said… heeding the warning & for surely remembering the fact that my mother had informed me at some point earlier in life that at sometime in the near or soon to be very recent future there were DEFINITELY going to be days like these

proof is in the prep work. with scabbed lids & eyes almost swollen shut we lose track of time between days 4 or 5 but dig deep to find the will… bet on black & finally get some paint moving

well well well must be where all the cool kids hang out… kilo echo echo hilo idaho at location v3.2.1… strange passings as we take brief interlude to discuss the soft gentle relief of two ships in the night

seeing you and raising you one… with the new found force of dwindling time the red ablative begins to flow like the blood from my fingertips as day 5 slowly cools it’s way in towards tomorrow

T minus 10 hours and counting… finding place & reaching the point of where the magic really begins to happen, we move into the witching hour pasting paint & puffing patiently as we wait to pull tape

dropping in early on day 7 and soon to be swimming with the fishes… we’ve completed our task so strap yourselves in folks & stick with us here at www.luckystarsail.com as we’re fresh off the tarmac to give you final glances on the weeks worth of work. we bid adieu to the boat yard with a gracious thanks to all involved!
